In Baghdad, a meeting was held between the Iranian Foreign Minister and the President of Iraq

This was reported on the official website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

According to the ministry, during the talks the parties discussed "the most important bilateral, regional and international issues."

It is noted that the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called this meeting "the beginning of a new chapter in promoting and strengthening cooperation between Iran and Iraq."

At the same time, Saleh pointed to "significant success" in economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Zarif discussed with Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Ali al-Hakim the possibility of restoring Syria’s status in the League of Arab States.
