In compensation, Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to arrest the assets of Gazprom in Europe, in particular, the shares of companies that own Nord Stream, Nord Stream 2 and Blue Stream.

In addition, Kobolev added, Naftogaz filed a lawsuit against Russia for “seizing” the assets of the Ukrainian gas monopoly in the Crimea in the amount of more than $ 5 billion.

Also, the head of the company noted that this year Naftogaz initiated a new arbitration, under which Gazprom is required to revise gas transit tariffs in 2018-2019 and intends to recover $ 11.6 billion from the Russian company as compensation for “arrears” ".

Earlier, Dmitry Labin, a professor of international law at MGIMO, in an interview with FBA Economy Today, appreciated the intention of the Ukrainian company Naftogaz to seek compensation from Gazprom in the Stockholm Arbitration for the difference between the cost of gas imports from the European Union and the price set by the court.

As Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said earlier, Russia is ready for a peaceful settlement of the gas dispute with Ukraine.
