Two soldiers of the German Federal Armed Forces arrived late in the Hessian Bad Hersfeld to the service and gave as a reason to have been attacked before. The soldiers had been insulted, beaten and kicked by three men with black hair, heavily tanned skin and dark brown eyes. The problem: The complete story was fictitious.
First, the "Hersfelder Zeitung" had reported on the turn of the incident. According to findings of the Eastern Hessian state protection, the two soldiers simply needed a reason for their delay. They obviously feared employment and employment consequences. One of the two, according to "Hersfelder Zeitung" already twice late for duty appeared. The real reason for the delay was therefore a traffic jam.
The two soldiers belong to the Jägerbatallion 1 in Schwarzenborn. The company commander had opened a disciplinary procedure, said the responsible press spokesman of the 1st Armored Division in Oldenburg the news agency AFP. He did not want to speculate about possible consequences, these were a matter for the company commander. He also did not want to comment on the question of whether or not it was an xenophobic incident on the part of the soldiers.
Soldiers hurt themselves easily
The two 19-year-olds had stated that one of them was abused last Wednesday by three men with the words "Nazi", "son of a bitch" and "child murderer" and also spit while waiting for the other soldier on the roadside from to be taken to the barracks with him. When he wanted to confront the three men, they beat him down and stepped on him. When his comrade arrived, he too had been beaten.
The minor injuries were apparently self-inflicted by the two soldiers before they filed a complaint. The two 19-year-olds now have to answer not only within the Bundeswehr, but also criminally on suspicion of playing a criminal offense.
The Ministry of Defense did not want to comment on the incident on request. Secretary of State Peter Tauber, however, sharply criticized the two soldiers on Twitter: "In doing so, they do a disservice to those comrades who are really affected by attacks!"
The investigation has now revealed that there was no attack, but this was invented by the two soldiers.
