He remained silent for 7 days, Emmanuel Macron will speak again this Monday, December 31 evening. The French president will present his wishes for the new year in search of a second wind.

A year ago, Emmanuel Macron called the country to cohesion. This Monday evening, he could repeat the same message. After more than a month and a half of crisis with the "yellow vests", the head of state will in any case try to reconnect with the population and find new momentum.

Emmanuel Macron will benefit from the major national consultation that will begin in January to resume his field trips and re-establish the link with local elected officials. The Elysée is organizing meetings with mayors in the 13 regions of the country.

Before recording his speech on Monday, Emmanuel Macron took advantage of the end of the year break to disappear, to be a little forget. He was only seen last Friday in the streets of Saint-Tropez.

But the end of year truce was not as calm as hoped. Alexandre Benalla and his diplomatic passports have parasitized the president's holidays and could blur his message. And the start of the new year promises to be complicated with the sensitive issue of the beginning of 2019: the entry into force on January 1 of the levy of tax at source.
