The group France Televisions officially confirms that it will eliminate 1000 posts by the end of 2022, the management and the unions began to negotiate Monday. The information had already circulated, it is the consequence of the savings measures requested by the State.

A thousand posts in less than four years is the price to be paid by France Televisions summoned by the State to make 160 million euros in savings by 2022.

The management and the unions are working on a collective conventional disruption plan, a provision made possible by the reform of the Labor Code. There will be no forced departures, says the direction.

The state would have agreed to put their hands in their pockets to pay voluntary severance pay. France Télévisions now has just under 9,700 employees. As early as December, the Human Resources Department explained that the teams had to be recomposed. That is to say to leave the older workforce - half of the employees of the group is over 50 years - to allow the recruitment of younger and digital profiles.

The plan could take the form of 2,000 departures per 1,000 hires more in line with needs. Objective: better support the investment of France Télévisions in the digital whose envelope will be multiplied by two.

Delphine Ernotte, president of the audiovisual company, already explained at the beginning of the summer that we should rebuild the social model of France Televisions. The public company has already experienced two voluntary redundancy plans and has reduced its workforce by 800 since 2012.
