The year 2019 begins with a slight decline of 0.7% in the number of unemployed category A in the first quarter. But unemployed people in other categories are increasing.

Admittedly, the number of unemployed category A, the most scrutinized category, that which concerns people without any activity, has slightly decreased. Less 0.7% in the first quarter of 2019 - 25,000 fewer unemployed - minus 1.5% year-on-year.

An improvement to relativize: unemployment categories B and C increases. These are people with reduced activity, who have odd jobs, precarious, temporary, fixed-term, part-time, etc. In the end, the increase offsets the decline and the overall number of unemployed remains stable. In all more than 5.9 million people are still looking for a job.

In its survey of "manpower needs", Pôle emploi nevertheless opens up good prospects. Hiring intentions are up sharply: + 15% for 2019, ie nearly 350,000 additional recruitment projects. But we are still far from the goal of " full employment " set on Thursday 2025 by Emmanuel Macron, during his press conference.

And if we compare job creations in the last 18 months, the head of state is doing worse than his predecessor François Hollande during the same period of his quinquennium.
