In the North Sea, a Cayman helicopter crashed as it was taking off from the Dixmude Bridge off Dunkirk in the North Sea. Four French sailors were wounded, one seriously.

Four sailors were injured Wednesday night in the crash of a helicopter on a building of the Navy, Diksmuide , in the North Sea, said Friday the staff of the army.

The accident occurred 70 miles (about 130 km) off Dunkirk, said the staff in a statement on his Twitter account.

The helicopter crew is unscathed

The aircraft, a Cayman from 1st Combat Helicopter Regiment, was in "take-off phase for a training flight , " said the staff.

The crew escaped unharmed from the helicopter, but four sailors on the flight deck were injured, one of them seriously.

The latter was first taken care of on the Dixmude , a projection and command building (BPC) equipped with a hospital embarked, then evacuated to the military hospital of Percy, near Paris.

"Several investigations have been launched to determine the causes of the accident," the statement added.

199 meters long and capable of moving 22,000 tonnes, PCBs can carry up to 700 men, twenty helicopters, landing craft, tanks and sixty vehicles.
