Explosions in Sri Lanka are a response to the terrorist attack in New Zealand
Sri Lankan authorities said that the bombings that terrorists staged on Easter Sunday in Christian churches, as well as in hotels and other places in the country, are a response to the recent terrorist attack in New Zealand.
It is reported by Mirror, citing the statement of the Minister of Defense Ruvan Viyevardeni.
As he said during a speech in parliament, a preliminary investigation shows that the attacks in the country were committed by local extremists in response to the terrorist attack in Christchurch New Zealand.
A series of explosions occurred in the temples and five-star hotels of Sri Lanka on April 21, on Catholic Easter.
On March 15, a double terrorist attack took place in the mosques of the New Zealand city of Christchurch. According to recent reports, at least 50 people died as a result of the attack.
