Eight days after the explosion that killed four people including two firefighters, rue de Treviso, in the 9th district of Paris, residents of the neighborhood paid a surprise tribute Sunday morning in front of the barracks of the Château d'Eau.

At 11am, the residents applauded the soldiers of the fire, to greet the memory of the two firemen from the barracks who died in the gas explosion on January 12, reports Le Parisien . The firefighters, who did not expect such a tribute, went out to the barracks. Taken by emotion, some people burst into tears.

Four dead, 66 wounded. Called for a gas leak, two firefighters, Sergeant Simon Cartannaz, 28, and Corporal Nathanael Josselin, 27, were quick to intervene on the scene. Two other people were also killed in the explosion and 66 others injured. The investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the explosion.
