The Republic on the march (LREM) remains ahead of the vote in the European elections of May 26, before the National Gathering, which however reduces the gap, according to a poll BVA-Orange for Europe 1 and The Tribune published Monday.

The vice tightens between LREM and RN

24% of respondents * say that they will vote for the LREM-MoDem list, while they are 21% to turn to the party of Marine Le Pen. The LREM list recorded -1 point compared to the results of the last poll of February 2019, while the list RN wins 2 points of voting intentions in one month.

At the foot of the podium, the list Republicans would collect 12% of voting intentions (+2 points), Europe-Ecology-The Greens 8.5%, France insubmits 7.5%. The Public Place-Socialist Party and Debout la France lists are tied at 5%. All other lists are credited with less than 5% of voting intentions, including a result of the movement of "yellow vests". Finally, note that 17% of respondents did not express any voting intentions, or could vote blank or nil.

Towards increased participation?

In addition, interest in the European election stagnates, two months from the deadline, while 62% of respondents say they are "interested" in the European elections, against 36% "not interested". The interest rate for these elections is highest among retirees (77%), supporters LREM (85%) and LR (79%), while it is lower among people living in rural areas (55%). , employees and workers (49%) and those under 35 and 35-49 (53% and 54%).

Finally, 45 to 51% of those surveyed say they will vote on May 26th. This participation, if true, would be above the turnout of the last 2014 European elections, which was 42%.

Study conducted on a sample polled by the Internet, from March 20 to 21, 2019, of 1,398 registered voters, identified in a sample of French representative of the national population aged 18 and over.
