British Prime Minister Theresa May still sees insufficient support for the treaty package for her country's exit from the EU. May said that on Monday in parliament. Her spokesperson had previously announced that it would only vote again on the Brexit deal if there was an opportunity for a majority.

The lower house is again debating on Monday on the further procedure for the planned withdrawal from the EU. Already twice the agreement negotiated between May and Brussels in the lower house has already failed. A majority for the deal would be in the view of observers but this time not in sight.

She will continue to hold talks to push through the vote by the end of the week, May said Monday. "I can only promise that I will drive the process as constructively as possible."

Now, as the next step in this week, a vote on alternatives to the Brexit deal is due.

Originally Britain wanted to leave the EU on 29th March. The EU offered Britain a shift in Brexit until 22 May last week. However, the condition for this is that the lower house approves the withdrawal agreement this week. Otherwise, the extension is only valid until April 12th. In that case, before this date, London should say how to proceed.

Meanwhile, the EU is continuing to prepare for an unregulated Brexit. The European Commission published new information material for citizens on Monday. For example, it describes what to do when traveling to the UK.
