The Egyptian National Elections Commission announced the approval of the Egyptian people to amend the constitution by 88.83% of the total number of participants in the referendum held for this purpose.
In a press conference held Tuesday to announce the results of the referendum on the constitutional amendments, the chairman of the committee, Lashin Ibrahim, said that the attendance rate reached 44.33 percent, with a total of 27,193,593 voters, of the total number of registered voters who are entitled to vote, 61 million, 344,503 Voters.
The head of the Egyptian National Elections Commission pointed out that the total valid votes reached 26 million 362 421 votes, 96.94%, and the total invalid votes reached 831 thousand and 172 votes by 3.6%.
He added that the total number of "Yes" votes on the constitutional amendments reached 23,146,741 voters, 88.83%, while the total number of votes "No" two million and 945 thousand and 680 voters by 11.17%.
