“The rule of law and liberal democracy are now under threat. This is the biggest threat to Europe at the moment. Fundamental values ​​and liberal democracy have never faced such a challenge since the collapse of the USSR, ”he said.

In his opinion, it is this issue that will become “the main topic during the election campaign to the European Parliament.”

“This is the biggest internal threat, although there are external threats. The key values ​​on which European integration was built are now under attack from some of our leaders ... who truly believe that the time for liberal democracy has passed, ”he said.
