In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the former President of the Republic, Joseph Kabila, was received Monday, April 22, by his successor, Felix Tshisekedi. The two men, once opposed, decided to work together in a political coalition. This meeting took place in a context marked by discussions around the appointment of a prime minister. Nearly four months after the election of President Tshisekedi, the DRC is still waiting for a government.

According to sources close to both sides, Felix Tshisekedi and Joseph Kabila have always maintained contact.

" They talk to each other and meet since they decided to be in coalition, even if their lieutenants sometimes get in on some issues, " said a source from the presidency of the republic.

On Monday, their meeting was held at the African Union City where the office of the current head of state is located. The exchange which lasted about an hour focused on the next Prime Minister and the composition of his government.

On the question of the Prime Minister, the discussions continue, almost four months after the inauguration of Felix Tshisekedi as President of the Republic.

According to sources close to Felix Tshisekedi, several other points were on the agenda such as the establishment and operation of institutions resulting from the elections.

It was also discussed the election of the final office of the National Assembly scheduled for Tuesday, April 23. Joseph Kabila's Common Front for Congo and Tshisekedi's Cape for Change offer a common ticket to the lower House of Parliament, which is numerically dominated by Camp Kabila.
