In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the archbishop of Kinshasa, Monsignor Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, drew a dark picture of the socio-political situation in the country. In his homily on the occasion of the Easter Mass, the prelate speaks of the dreams of many Congolese who have "not been realized" by the recent political events.

Bishop Fridolin Ambongo Besungu remained in the line of the Catholic Church on the conduct of the electoral process. For Catholic bishops, especially about the presidential election, the result published by the Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) is a denial of truth.

As usual, Bishop Ambongo did not mince words.

" Despair is gaining more and more hearts of Congolese and Congolese. The recent political elements did not realize much the dreams of our people, "said the prelate in his Easter homily.

In this message that was read in all the parishes of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa during the Easter celebrations, on Saturday evening and Sunday, April 21, the Archbishop reminds that some time ago, " the hopes of a whole people were broken and sacrificed to the altar of the selfish interests and calculations of a few people creating frustration and discouragement . "

Already last March, the Archbishop of Kinshasa called on the international community to weaken former President Joseph Kabila to reduce his political influence, about four months after leaving the country.
