Dozens of Palestinians were suffocated Sunday when the Israeli army dispersed a march in the northern West Bank.

The clashes took place at the southern entrance of Nablus, during which the Israeli occupation army used rubber bullets and tear gas canisters, while the demonstrators threw stones at the Israeli occupation forces.

The correspondent of the Anatolia Agency that the clashes broke out after the Israeli army dispersed a march started from the center of Nablus towards the Huwwara military checkpoint south of the city, condemning the Israeli practices in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The agency quoted field medics as saying that they had provided field treatment for dozens of sufferers suffocated after inhaling gas at the Huwwara checkpoint.

In recent days, the occupation authorities arrested a number of leaders of Fatah movement in the city of Jerusalem, and decided today to release some of them.
