In Congo-Brazzaville, the National Council of Republicans (CNR) of former rebel leader Frédéric Bintsamou, aka Pasteur Ntumi, has been authorized to resume its activities on Congolese territory. The CNR was suspended the day after the clashes resumed in the Pool (South) in April 2016.

According to a government source, the decision to lift this suspension was notified to Pastor Ntumi in a correspondence sent to him by the Minister of the Interior Raymond Zephyrin Mboulou.

" This is a decision to strengthen the peace in the Pool, a peace achieved through the agreements signed between the government and Pastor Ntumi in December 2017, " said a Commission official responsible for the implementation of these agreements .

In the camp of the former rebel leader, we salute the lifting of the suspension a little with reserve.

" We welcomed the news. It is good of course, but the wish would be, as required by law, to lift the suspension by a ministerial decree and not a simple correspondence, "told RFI a close to Pastor Ntumi who requested anonymity.

Although Pastor Ntumi was a presidential advisor in charge of promoting the values of peace until April 2017, his political party claims to be the opposition. She had supported opponent Guy-Brice Parfait Kolelas in the 2016 presidential election.
