Colombia will recall its diplomats from Venezuela as soon as possible.

“In order to preserve the lives and immunity of Colombian officials, (the government) organizes their departure to Colombia as soon as possible,” said Foreign Minister Carlos Olmes Trujillo.

Earlier, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that Venezuela is breaking off diplomatic and political relations with Colombia. He gave the staff of the Colombian Embassy in Caracas 24 hours to leave Venezuela.

Also during a speech in Caracas, Maduro called the Colombian leader Ivan Duque the devil.
