CDU chief Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer has been reluctant to a Jamaikabündnis with Greens and FDP after the next general election. Kramp-Karrenbauer said in the Phoenix show "Unter den Linden. That two-person constellations, such as in Hesse, are easier to manage with black and green than constellations with three parties," everyone who has ever been involved in such work knows ".

In the beginning of 2012, Kramp-Karrenbauer had the first Jamaican government run by her in one federal state burst because of a rift in coalition partner FDP. The dispute within the FDP was no longer "compatible with the responsibility for securing the future of the country," she had founded the step back then.

Asked whether they could imagine a Jamaican government at the federal level, if the SPD did not want to continue the grand coalition, for example, after the European elections, the CDU chairwoman at Phoenix said there were functioning role models as in Schleswig-Holstein. Therefore, one could not say of a Jamaican alliance "per se, it is out of the question for us".

To what extent the possibility for other constellations - for example for two-party alliances - results in the future, must be examined after an election result. She again ruled out alliances with Left Party or AfD.

Peace with the CSU

After the serious clashes between Angela Merkel and CSU leader Horst Seehofer on migration policy, Kramp-Karrenbauer expressed optimism about her cooperation with the future CSU chairman Markus Söder. She and Söder were aware of "however destructive that was, how negative that affected it," she said, referring to the argument. "That's why we approach our work as party leaders with the firm commitment that we work together closely, that we exchange and vote well."

But that does not mean that there will not be substantive dispute. CDU and CSU have always quarreled. "We are siblings, but not identical twins." The Union has always been particularly strong, "when we have complemented each other in diversity".

That means: "Also sometimes a fight in the matter, but reasonable, then, if it is worth it in the thing and above all, also: decent sound."

Kramp-Karrenbauer will take part in the CSU party conference in Munich this Saturday, where Söder Seehofer will replace CSU leader.
