Christophe Hondelatte returns to the Yoni Palmier case, a series of murders committed by a man in Essonne in 2011 and 2012.

HONDELATTE RACONTE

But why did he kill Nathalie Davids, Jean-Yves Bonnerue, Marcel Brunetto and Nadia Boudjemia, four people who do not have anything in common? Monday, Europe 1, Christophe Hondelatte returns on the case Yoni Palmier, the story of a man who committed a series of murders in Essonne in 2011 and 2012 and whose motives are still unknown today ...

This case started in 2011 with a body, that of Nathalie Davids, 35 years old. He is found riddled with bullets in the parking lot of his building in Juvisy-sur-Orge, Essonne. The police first suspect his mate Michel Courtois, a mythomaniac man with whom Nathalie had been in a relationship for two years. In police custody, he recognizes the murder and then retracts. But the investigators wonder when a new murder occurs in the same car park a few weeks later. Jean-Yves Bonnerue, 52, is killed a few meters from where Nathalie was murdered. A socket is found on site. It corresponds to the weapon of the first crime. Michel Courtois was able to sponsor since the prison? When in doubt, the man is kept in the cell.

But the murders succeed one another. Three weeks later, a few kilometers from Juvisy, in Ris Orangis, still in the Essonne, Marcel Bruneto is shot in the head in the hall of his city HLM. On April 5, 2012, it is a fourth victim, Nadia Boudjemia, 48, who is shot three times when she returns home. Each time, the same scenario is repeated: witnesses claim to have seen a biker - this was also the case for the first two murders - and the bullet corresponds to the model of the weapon that killed Nathalie Davids. Only difference, this time, young people in the neighborhood are able to accurately describe the bike. It's a white and blue Suzuki. A report of the motorcycle is broadcast, the list of peeled gray cards and a name then emerges, that of Yoni Palmier, a resident of Draveil, in Essonne.

A marginal man, already convicted for violence

This man is a marginal. He appears in a hurry, stressed, when the police meet him. Quickly, they discover a Suzuki motorcycle in one of the boxes he owns. In custody, Yoni Palmier claims to have nothing to do with the murders. But in a building where the man parks his carts, the police discover a socket that corresponds to the murder weapon. They also find in another box a crossbow, a vest by bullet but especially two pistols, the weapons of the crimes. This man, who can not bear to swallow his saliva, already convicted of violence, threats of death and stabbing his mother with four stab wounds, is indicted for the four murders.

In 2015, in the first instance, Yoni Palmier admits "a part of responsibility" in the first of four murders, that of Nathalie. On the other hand, he claims to have "nothing to say" about the other three. Sentenced to life in prison and a period of 22 years of security with a security detention order, he appeals. During his second trial, he will acknowledge all the facts and only claim to have chosen his victims at random. He will be sentenced to life in prison and a 22-year security period.

"He took someone randomly to shoot"

"It's a total frustration for the family and an immeasurable sadness" of still not knowing why Yoni Palmier killed these four people, reacted on Monday Me Elisabeth Auerbacher, the lawyer of the family of Nathalie Davids at the microphone of Christophe Hondelatte . "The problem is that Yoni Palmier is a marginal person, who is outside of any kind of society, he does not respect the legality of anything, Yoni Palmier himself said it was He rented a parking space where Nathalie Davids lived ... ", says the lawyer.

However, psychiatrists felt that he could be held responsible for his actions. "I think that the civil parties would not have accepted that one says that he was crazy and therefore he was not accessible to the penal sanction", estimates Me Elisabeth Auerbacher, which agrees that his case is very complex: "He is accessible to a reflection, he has an awareness of the act but at the same time there is a flight, some tocs, he has a family history that has not been treated. conditions, it's between responsibility and madness, we do not know what to do with it, so we say it's responsible.
