President Trump called and talked to President Moon Jae-in at 6:50 yesterday evening, just after he was on the plane to the United States, for 25 minutes.

President Trump said he wanted to share the outcome of the talks with Kim Jong-un first, and said that the details of the talks were explained in detail by Cheong Wa Dae.

In particular, he urged President Moon to actively mediate between North Korea and the United States. "Talk to Chairman Kim Jong-un and report the results."

Trump also expressed regret that he failed to reach an agreement at the summit, and made clear his intention to reach a conclusion through talks with North Korea.

President Moon said he would like to meet in person in the near future, and President Trump also agreed.

The Blue House said it would continue its efforts to mediate, saying the North American talks have been disappointing, but there has been significant progress.

[Kim Sung-Kee / Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson: Our government will make every effort to maintain dialogue momentum as the United States and North Korea continue close communication and cooperation.]

Although the role of the mediator of President Moon once again became important, there seems to be some disruption in seeking common prosperity on the basis of peace, such as the "New Korean peninsula system" plan that will be revealed at the memorial service of the 3rd and the 1st day.
