In Burkina Faso, a new terrorist attack took place on Monday in Nassoumbou, near the Malian border in the north. Four soldiers were killed. The day before, it was the village of Sikiré, about twenty kilometers from Arbinda in the province of Soum, which was attacked by armed men. The balance is ten dead. Insecurity has intensified for several weeks in northern Burkina Faso and extends to the center of the country. In these agropastoral regions, terrorists are playing off intercommunity tensions to destabilize them. And the people live in anguish.

Tidiane Zango is a breeder from Yirgou-Foulbè. He lost his brother, one of his sons and all his property in the attack on his village in early January. Tidiane lives today with a relative in Arbinda and does not know what tomorrow will be done: " Really, our situation is serious because no food, all the wheat is burned. Thanks to WFP [World Food Program], we found a little to eat. I lost all my belongings. The oxen, the sheep, everything is lost. "

Today, some pastoralists are trying to find their herds scattered in the bush. Yacouba Diandé is the secretary general of a local breeders association: " They go one by one to go rebuild herds. But they are afraid of rifles that are still there. The conflict is still there. "

Burkinabè security forces have been deployed in the region, but their presence is not enough to reassure the population, according to Boubacary Diallo, secretary general of the National Union of "Rougas" of Burkina Faso. That is to say traditional leaders of breeders. " They are visible on the ground. But only, the plan of response was not enough consequent. So far, people can not go back to their respective villages. This means that the situation is not resolved. First, we must stop those who committed these abuses. It will allow others to understand that there is an authority in front . Since the January attacks, no arrests have been made.
