The murder of Bulgarian journalist Viktoria Marinova is about to be clarified. The alleged murderer confessed to the media. For now, nothing seems to indicate an assassination related to his work.

" I am guilty, I am sorry. This is the admission of Severin Krasimirov, 20, in front of the media. Only suspect for the murder of Viktoria Marinova, Krasimirov appeared before the judge in the city of Ruse, after his run in Germany .

According to his account, Krasimirov and Marinova clashed in the street, after which he allegedly hit her and she fell to the ground. Krasimirov says he does not remember what happened next.

Viktoria Marinova , a TVN regional TV reporter, was found dead on 6 October, beaten, raped and disfigured. She is the third journalist killed in Europe in less than a year. The murder was condemned around the world, and raised concerns for journalism in Bulgaria, a country known for its lack of press freedom.
