UK MPs backed Theresa May's new Brexit strategy on Wednesday (February 27th), which could lead to a postponement of the date of the divorce scheduled for March 29th.

According to this plan the day before , the British Prime Minister will submit again to the vote of the Parliament, the 12 of March at the latest, the agreement of divorce which it concluded with Brussels, with the concessions which it could negotiate to get the pill. This agreement was massively rejected mid-January.

If the MEPs recalent it again, it will ask them on March 13 if they want to leave the EU without agreement. If they refuse, it will submit to them on March 14 a proposal for a "limited" Brexit report, an idea to which it has so far always been opposed.

MEPs voted for an amendment by Conservative Oliver Letwin and Labor Yvette Cooper to anchor the Prime Minister's proposal for a postponement of Brexit, calling for "the necessary legal steps to change the release date" of the EU , by 502 votes to 20.

The conservative leader has had to consider delaying the threat of resignation of several members of her government who refuse the possibility of an exit without agreement. On the European side, we are ready to concede it on condition that we are certain of breaking the current stalemate.
