The Prix Ouest-France Jean-Marin was awarded to the correspondent of the World in Africa Jean-Philippe Rémy this Saturday, October 13, 2018.

The journalist Jean-Philippe Rémy was awarded the Prix Ouest-France Jean-Marin for his report entitled "Le Yémen en guerre" published in Le Monde .

"He is the author of a global scoop, that the use of chemical weapons by the regime of Bashar el Assad in Syria in 2013," says Nicolas Poincaré.

This is not the first time a distinction has been awarded to Jean-Philippe Rémy in Bayeux. Already in 2013, he had received the Bayeux-Calvados Award from war correspondents in the print category for his report "On the Damascus front".

He is also the curator of the exhibition "Yemen, the war far from the eyes" visible in the chapel of the Bayeux Tapestry until 4 November.

Jean-Philippe Rémy was very applauded when he recalled the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey after a visit to his country's consulate.
