Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir said that his government will not change, not by a demonstration and not from outside, but through the elections, stressing in a public meeting in the state of South Darfur that his government acknowledged the existence of an economic crisis and is continuing to resolve.

"Yes, there is a known economic problem and we are working to solve it, but the solution is not destruction, vandalism and burning," Bashir told a rally in Nyala, South Darfur.

"This is your country and the future for you, so do not ruin and destroy your country and your future," he said, adding that there are those who seek to destabilize Sudan and do not like the stability in Darfur.

Bashir's supporters chanted slogans such as "Oh Bashir, we are with you," "sit down, sit down," and "Sir Sir Ya Bashir."

The speech comes a day after the two cities of El Fasher and Nyala in the Darfur region joined the protests condemning the deteriorating living conditions and the overthrow of the Bashir regime, which also included Khartoum, Omdurman and Wood Madani.

This is Bashir's third visit to a Sudanese state since the protests began on December 19, 2018, where he visited the central island state of the island and the state of the River Nile (north).
