Thales, Total, Michelin and Axa are among the French companies to have renewed their contracts, or signed new ones, with Bahrain.

Bahrain announced Monday the signing of nearly two billion euros in total commercial contracts with several major French groups including Thales, Total and Axa, on the occasion of the visit of a delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Paris. Of this amount, 1.5 billion correspond to renewals of trade agreements. The rest covers the signing of new commitments.

€ 73 million in contracts for Thales and Michelin

The French high-tech and defense group Thales and the Michelin tire giant have signed contracts for 73 million euros to equip the Bahraini airline Gulf Air, according to a statement from the agency of promotion of the Economic Development Board of Bahrain (EDB). Total has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tatweer Petroleum Group concerning the exploration of an oil and gas field discovered in 2018 off the west coast of the kingdom.

Insurance leader Axa has signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a new regional headquarters in Bahrain while Amundi will manage some 450 million euros of assets on behalf of the management company. Osool assets.

Engie and Airbus still very engaged in Bahrain

The cumulative value of trade agreements between Bahrain and France now reach 4.15 billion euros, according to the EDB, which recalls that nearly 70% of water and electricity in the country are produced by desalination plants and thermal power plants built by Engie and that Airbus is one of Gulf Air's leading suppliers of aircraft.
