A veteran of World War II and a participant in the liquidation of the Bandera underground, 93-year-old Mikhail Livke received a Russian passport. Last year, he moved from Transcarpathia to the Arkhangelsk region to his only son. Once in Russia, Livke began to apply for Russian citizenship, but he was denied receipt of a passport under a simplified scheme, since the validity of his Ukrainian certificate of a participant in the Great Patriotic War does not apply to the territory of the Russian Federation. After the request of RT, the case of Mikhail Livke was taken under control by the Directorate General for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, after which the issue of granting citizenship to the veteran was resolved as soon as possible.
