The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey has revealed the outcome of three days of recounting and revising the canceled votes in some districts and neighborhoods of Istanbul by the Supreme Elections Commission.

The Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy chairman Ali Ihsan Yawoz said the process had so far yielded 11,109 votes for his party since April 1, after 530 funds were re-screened in Sunday's local elections.

Speaking at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Istanbul, Yawoz spoke at a press conference on developments in the recount based on appeals by the party to the authorities concerned.

Yaoz said it also turned out that there were 1641 votes for the Justice and Development Party (PJD) in a total of 5,857 funds, in the context of recounting invalid votes.

He added that 64 votes were also registered for the party in 121 of the funds that have been completely recounted, noting that his party is also working to correct a further amount of electoral votes.

He pointed out that his party discovered in the electoral results table a large number of votes, which were not introduced into the electoral system.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Istanbul said that the re-screening of the canceled votes has so far been completed in only seven areas, out of 39 in Istanbul.
