An Asian woman threw her three-year-old baby from the second floor and was taken by a bystander to save him from a fire in a building in the Naeemiya district of Ajman. The mother also jumped behind him and was injured. An Arab man jumped from the first floor to escape the fire, Civil Defense teams rescued a family of seven by Snooker.
The deputy director of the center's directorate, Lieutenant Colonel Raid Obeid Al-Zaabi, said that the Civil Defense Platform of the Ajman Police received a notice yesterday afternoon that a fire broke out in a residential building in Al-Naeemiya area. Civil Defense, Rescue and National Rescue vehicles moved to the scene. Residents took control of the fire.
Zaabi said: At the time of the fire, an Asian woman threw her three-year-old child from the second floor. A passerby picked her up and threw herself. An Arab man threw himself from the first floor to escape the smoke from the fire. After which they were sent by the national ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
He added that the accident resulted from the burning of washing machine and refrigerator in the corridor of the building, led to the spread of heavy smoke and caused the contamination of the building, and was verified the safety of the place and preview, and delivered to the competent authorities to complete the investigation and the reasons.
Zaabi appealed to the residents of the buildings not to store randomly in the corridors and emergency exits, and to ensure the safety of electrical installations and electronic devices, and follow the instructions in the implementation of evacuation plans for buildings, in case of fire.
