Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Jahnawi and his Algerian counterpart Sabri Boukadoum issued a joint appeal calling on the Libyan parties to immediately end the fighting and called for an urgent meeting of the tripartite mechanism mechanism on Libya, which consists of Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.

After their meeting in Tunis, the two ministers stressed that there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis and that the political path sponsored by the United Nations is the only way to resolve this crisis.

The appeal also affirmed the continued support of the two countries for the UN efforts to achieve a comprehensive political settlement in Libya and the responsibility of the international community to end the crisis.

The Algerian foreign minister said that there is no military solution to the conflict in Libya, stressing that his country does not accept to bomb the Arab capital and Magharebia.

Demonstrations in Tripoli
In the meantime, demonstrations took place in the capital Tripoli and several cities in protest against the attack by the forces of retired brigade Khalifa Hafter on the west of the country.

The demonstrators called for severing relations with the countries supporting Hafter and pressing for international criminalization as a war criminal. The demonstrators wore yellow jackets in reference to their refusal to support France's Haftar forces and provide them with weapons.

A source in the Libyan National Accord government said that three pieces of marine docked Thursday in the port of Ras Lanuf oil east of the country, one of them carrying the French flag.

The source added that the pieces of marine ships were dropped warships and offensive weapons under the supervision of the commander of the naval forces of the retired brigade Khalifa Hafter.

For his part, said the Interior Minister in the Libyan government of reconciliation Fathi Pasha, the countries that support Hafter are countries that violate Libyan legitimacy, and provide excuses under the name of the formation of a national army, but are just militias filled with hatred and regionalism, as he put it.
