"A group of convicts who earlier committed gross violations of the order of serving their sentences and kept in a single chamber-type room filed applications for refusing food intake, demanding the creation of preferential conditions for serving their sentence," the ministry said.

It is noted that the commission of the UFSIN in the Yaroslavl region was sent to the colony, representatives of the prosecutor's office, the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the region and the public monitoring commission were invited.

According to the department, the administration of the institution held an explanatory conversation with the convicts. They were also examined by the doctors.
