Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, today inaugurated the 8th International Conference on Vitamin D deficiency and its impact on human health, organized by the VBS Group of Health Care in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 600 experts, doctors and specialists from inside and outside the UAE. , And stressed the doctors participating in the conference on the importance of intensifying awareness campaigns and education about the risk of vitamin D deficiency on the health of individuals, pointing out that the average proportion of people with vitamin deficiency in the country nearly 70% of the population of the state, D) and osteoporosis among Emirati women.

Five academic and health institutions are currently studying the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and osteoporosis among Emirati women, said assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Zayed University. He pointed out that a recent American study has established a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and skin cancer, which requires the need for vitamin D tests for all age groups every six months.
