An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was found in the eastern Indian suburb of Assam, the US Geological Survey said.

The earthquake occurred at about 1:45 am local time today (April 24), 114 kilometers northwest of Djiburgar, India, according to the US Geological Survey.

The depth of Jinwon was measured at a very shallow 9 km, and vibration was detected in China's Tibet, Reuters reported.

It is a border area between India and China and has a low population density.

Until now, damage to people and property has not been confirmed.
