Four students at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering at the Higher College of Technology in Sharjah have invented smart devices that take care of pets at home or farm and provide them with the necessary food and water, without human intervention, so as not to waste food and water, , And the device does not stop working when connected to electricity.

The team, led by Assistant Professor of Engineering and Science Technology, Dr. Mohammad Rahmani, included students Asma Hassan Al-Bulgouni, Amna Ali Al-Mazmi, Yousif Al-Muhairi, and Maryam Yacoub Al Suwaidi, who completed it as a graduation project and participated in a number of innovation competitions within the country. .

The students said that the device is responsible for taking care of the pet in terms of food and water automatically in the event of concern or travel of the owner of the animal, and provide food through the data entered to him, and this data entered through the owner of the device the amount of food and times throughout the day, The amount of water used depends on the sensors provided by the system of the device, and the device according to the mechanism of the system automatically refill the water, so as to put the amount of water required for the pet, and disposal of the remaining after the passage of time appropriate, and can be controlled by applying to the phones Smart, the owner can observe the animal's activities remotely.

According to the students, the device is considered to be environmentally friendly. It discharges the water to be changed each time, to irrigate the plants according to the wishes of the owner. Moreover, the device can be used with different types of pets. It can also be produced commercially for farms and zoos. Which saves money and effort on pet breeders.

Wolfen said that they participated in the competition in the "Science Thinking 2018" competition, organized by the Emirates Foundation in Dubai last April, and won second place.

The project was part of the Future Seeds competition. The team was honored with a scientific trip to China under the patronage of Huawei, in coordination with the TRA.
