The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a traveler who tried to smuggle 2.3 kg of drug cocaine into prison for 10 years and sentenced him to a fine of 100,000 dirhams and deportation.

Investigations by the Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP) reported that he was arrested on February 10 when he landed on a transit flight at Dubai airport and was on his way to Egypt from South America.

She noted that 80 male condoms filled with material suspected of customs inspectors had been seized and found to be cocaine. The accused was referred to the Dubai Criminal Court and admitted that he intended to smuggle cocaine into Egypt.

A report issued by the Dubai Police Criminal Evidence General Department confirmed that the male ounce seized by the suspect contained 2.3 kg of cocaine mixed with oily fluid.

During his trial earlier this month, the accused denied the charges against him in court, which sentenced him to 10 years in prison and then deported him after serving his sentence.
