Fighting American imperialism was the watchword of this march in support of President Maduro. If the country is on the verge of asphyxiation, it is only the fault of the United States, says Richard Oramas, the commander of the militia of the State of Vargas, north of Caracas.

" We are going through an unconventional war, " he says. They block us at all levels. They do not let in food and medicine. We do not want humanitarian aid because it is an invasion of NATO and blue helmets. We do not want invaders on our land. "

A few meters further, Romolo Gonzales walks alongside his girlfriend. This official at the National Institute of Training and Recreation finds it normal that the opposition expresses its disagreement. But he insists: it must be done in the rules.

" Everyone has the right to give their opinion and think totally differently from others, says Romolo Gonzales. Otherwise, it would be a dictatorship. But this opposition can no longer be dedicated simply to burning, block roads, create riots. She had better work to explain what she blames for this government's policy . "

The number 2 of the government, Diosdado Cabello, promised, in a speech closing the march of a few thousand people, that the population would mobilize every day on the street in case of American intervention .

We defend the political project of Commander Chavez, the construction of Bolivarian socialism, facing an imperialist aggression, a total war against us, against our people, for 20 years. A war that has intensified after the death of Commander Hugo Chavez, since Nicolas Maduro heads the country, economically, politically, culturally, ideologically. A plan of imperialism to put an end to our project, because it shows that it is possible to live in a different way than in a system of capitalist exploitation. I think they will try to intensify this economic blockade for our economy to collapse. But this mobilization, this gathering here in Caracas and in other parts of the country, confirms that we will be victorious
