The US Justice Department has rejected the demands of the Democrats to provide the full text of the report of Special Prosecutor Robert Muller, who investigated Trump’s possible “connections” with Russia in the 2016 elections. This was reported by The Hill, referring to the statement of the spokesman for the Ministry of Kerry Kyupek.

“The agenda of congressman Nadler (head of the legal committee of the House of Representatives Jerrold Nadler. - RT ) is premature and redundant. The ministry will continue to work with the congress on reviewing its legitimate requests in accordance with the law, ”noted Kyupek.

On April 19, Jerrold Nadler sent a summons to the Ministry of Justice demanding by May 1 to provide Congress with the full version of the Muller report and all related documents.

At the same time, Kyupek noted that at the moment the ministry is working on drawing up another version of the document, in which there will be less information withdrawn.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump spoke about the content of the report of Special Prosecutor Robert Muller, who investigated Trump’s possible “connections” with Russia in the 2016 elections. According to the head of the White House, some witness statements contained in the document have nothing to do with reality.

“Certain people spoke about me in the insane report by Muller, which itself was written by 18 angry democrats - Trump haters, these statements were fabricated and absolutely false,” wrote Trump on April 19 on his social network page.

State of the Law Report Report, in itself, by 18 Angry Democrat Trump Haters, which are fabricated & totally untrue. It is never existed until needed. Because I never ....

The day before, the US president said that he could have stopped the investigation of the special prosecutor, but he did not.

“I had the right to finish the whole witch hunt if I wanted to. I could fire everyone, including Muller, if I wanted to. I decided not to do this. I had the right to use the privileges of the executive branch. But I did not use them! ”The head of the White House wrote on his Twitter page on the day the report was published.

Trump's statements appeared amid accusations against US Attorney General William Barr from the Democrats. According to the opponents of the White House, the head of the US Department of Justice distorted information about Muller’s conclusions, removing some of the information testifying to Donald Trump’s “lies and inappropriate actions”.

“The Attorney General has caused serious damage to the country, incorrectly presenting a substantial part of the Muller report, trying to present the findings of the Special Prosecutor in a positive light in the interests of the President. The Attorney General is not the president’s personal lawyer, even if he himself may consider himself as such, ”said Adam Schiff, head of the intelligence committee of the lower house of the US Congress.

Recall, on April 18, the US Department of Justice issued the edited report of the United States special prosecutor on “Russian interference” in the 2016 US election. After that, US Attorney General William Barr said there was no trump agreement with the Russian authorities. He added that the entourage of the head of the White House and other Americans did not contribute to the "interference" of Russia in the electoral process in the United States.

US Attorney General also noted that the evidence collected by Muller is not enough to accuse Trump of obstructing the investigation of the “Russian interference”. At the same time, the report itself does not make a final conclusion on this issue.

"The authors of this report did not come to the conclusion that the president committed a crime, which, however, should not be considered its final justification," the document says.

It was this moment that served as a pretext for attacks from the Democrats.

According to analysts, the Democrats began another "hunt" for the head of the White House. Speaking with new charges, they are trying to discredit him before the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

“Democrats are striving to be in power, so they are again harassing Trump - they want to score the maximum points against the background of all the accusations that are now falling on the US president, and also to discredit him on the eve of the upcoming electoral process. Only a lazy Democrat has not yet declared the American president a Russian spy and has not announced his collusion with the new prosecutor general, ”said political scientist Sergei Sudakov in an interview with RT.

"New Hunt"

Schiff is by no means the only Democrat who accused Barr of distorting facts. Shortly after the publication of the Müller report, similar statements were made by Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“Today we learned that Attorney General Barr had deliberately distorted a significant portion of the report of Special Prosecutor Muller. Muller's report paints an alarming portrait of the president, who weaves a web of deception and lies, behaves inappropriately and pretends that the law has not been written to him. However, the conclusions of Mr. Barr are so misleading that if one did not get acquainted with the report itself, but only with its statement, then none of this would have become known, ”the statement reads.

Politicians insist that the congress should receive and consider the full version of the report and the documents on the basis of which it was prepared. In addition, Democrats believe that Special Prosecutor Muller should testify to both chambers.

According to Sergei Sudakov, the Democrats so desperately cling to the topic of the investigation of “Russian intervention”, since they themselves have no achievements that they could present in the upcoming presidential elections.

“Representatives of the Democratic Party cannot say that Barack Obama made a positive for the US population. While from an economic point of view, Trump pursues a successful policy - in a little over two years he managed to achieve what his predecessor could not do in two presidential terms. Democrats have nothing to hide, so they strive to grab onto those topics that have already been promoted, since they simply don’t have time for a new investigation and invention of “evidence”, ”the expert said.

The antitramp campaign, which the Democrats have launched with a new force, can continue until 2020, and if Trump is reelected for a second term, then until 2024, Sudakov said.

Prospects for re-election

Analysts say that, against the background of incessant pressure on Donald Trump, his prospects for reelection for a second term are not very clear. Experts believe that, in general, the scandal around the so-called “Russian intervention” does not greatly affect the supporters of the current American leader.

“The American leader has a very strong electorate: people rate the head of the White House solely on their wallet. And the Democrats' accusations against Trump are sophistry and nothing more, ”said Sergey Sudakov.

At the same time, the expert noted that the ongoing harassment can not affect the image of Trump and American public opinion. And if the situation does not change, it will not be easy for him to win the elections of 2020.

However, a lot will depend on who becomes the opponent of the head of the White House from the Democratic Party. According to Vladimir Brutera, there is no unity in the camp of the Democrats, and part of their electorate can vote for Trump.

“Democrats are scattered inside, some of them can support the republican candidate, because they don’t like theirs. The transition of representatives of the Democratic Party to the side of Trump is quite possible, however, this will depend on who plays the role of counter-candidate. At the same time, the republican electorate feels as one - it is difficult to assume that some of its part will go over to the side of the enemy, ”concluded Bruter.
