"None of the KVN has not yet become president": Maslyakov - about the victory of Zelensky in the Ukrainian elections

- Many politicians and journalists believe that the victory of Zelensky is a victory of the media. After all, as a person, few people know him, and they are not familiar with his program. At the same time, this media began with KVN. Do you consider yourself responsible for the choice made now by the Ukrainian people?

- Not. I am responsible for many things, but I do not think that I, too, should be responsible for the choice of the Ukrainian people. You say that they do not know him as a person, but the media still allows you to form an opinion about a person. KVN Zelensky was about 20 years ago. I already do not remember much. Since then, I have not been able to communicate with him.

But, probably, all the works that he did in the media space, all the films in which he participated, all the pictures that he produced, contribute to some kind of human knowledge. Although the media is not an x-ray. This is just an image, but I would like to know more about the person who is chosen for such a responsible post. Will he do it? Will they do what he wants to do? Further questions.

- Are you proud of such graduates of the Higher League of KVN, as Zelensky? After all, you personally select participants?

- There are a lot of decent people who were involved in this game in their youth. And, of course, some of them became worthy people - they did something useful, gained fame. But I have to admit that, as far as I know, not one of the KVN players has become president yet. Therefore, pride is not pride, but curiosity is there.

- Leadership qualities of Zelensky, about which they write a lot, were noticeable when he came to KVN with the team "Zaporozhye - Krivoy Rog - Transit"? He was not the captain then?

- Volodya joined the team “Zaporizhia - Krivoy Rog - Transit” at some stage. When I communicated with him, as with a KVA man, I saw his talent. Soon, he was able to organize his Kawen space, his team. And then all his media projects also indicate that he is a skillful organizer. But now it's life. Game over.

- “95 quarter” played from 1997 to 2003. Already in the middle of this period, by the beginning of the 2000s, they were written about as a team of one actor, meaning, of course, Vladimir Zelensky. Do you agree with this assessment?

- No no. There were capable guys. Of course, the leader, if he is in the team, of course, more noticeable. In addition to acting talent, organizational skills were also noticeable in Zelensky. But now we are trying to talk about a different level and transfer what was in the young years, to some serious planets.

- Zelensky after all portrayed Putin in speeches?

- Yes, Volodya portrayed Putin. Even in the presence of Putin, all this was done. But not only Zelensky did it. So it is not new, not his achievement. But still, he is a very capable guy in terms of acting.

- The focus of the 95th quarter rhetoric was an emphasis on the friendship of the peoples of the former Soviet republics - this topic was almost always present in their speeches ...

- Everything spoke about the friendship of nations, and it was sincere. But life went zigzag. And for me it is not clear why this friendship of nations was quickly forgotten.

- In one of his interviews Zelensky told how the first prize was divided between the teams - for political reasons. Do you remember that?

- I remember very well. This was not related to Volodya’s team. There was a team from Armenia and a team from Azerbaijan. They played safely in the same season, but at the same time difficulties began between the countries. And it so happened, by the will of the judges, that these two teams were in the final. We all saw how enmity between countries began to flare up. Therefore, when I brought the teams to the game, I said that in this final everything will be different - there will be no game. It will be a simple performance: the guys from both teams deserve an award, so we will share the prize.

- You will go to the inauguration of Zelensky?

- I do not think that I will be invited. For many years we have not communicated with Volodya. Apparently, they did not feel the need for this communication. And those who want to be at his inauguration, and those whom he invites himself, probably enough. I don’t think that I’m right there now. Moreover, I represent another state, to which, I hope, Zelensky has not yet fully defined his attitude.
