The US is trying to stage a coup d'état in Venezuela, said the vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic, Delsi Rodriguez.

“The US government is brazenly and immorally acknowledging its authorship of the criminal attempted coup in Venezuela. They demonstrate to the world the desire to destroy our homeland. The Venezuelan people will continue to peacefully resist attempts at imperial aggression, ”Rodriguez wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the opposition leader Juan Guaido announced the transition to the final part of Operation Freedom, aimed at overthrowing Maduro.

“The people of Venezuela initiated the end of usurpation. At the moment I am meeting with the main military units of our Armed Forces, which marks the beginning of the final phase of Operation Freedom, ”he said on Twitter.

Venezuelan authorities will take action against a small group of military who supported Speaker Juan Guaido, who proclaimed himself president of the country, Jorge Rodriguez, Minister of Communications and Information of the Bolivarian Republic, said.

The Spanish government also made an appeal to prevent bloodshed. The official representative of the Spanish Cabinet of Ministers, Isabel Selaa, said that Madrid “does not support any military coup”.
