For the second year in a row, the Kuwaiti Cartoon Society participated in the events of the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival organized by the National Council for Culture and Arts through an exhibition titled "Hashtag 2".

In a statement to Al Jazeera Net, Mohammed Thalab, the president of the association (the second in the Arab world as an official association after her Egyptian counterpart), said that 22 painters participated in the exhibition with 120 caricatures in which they dealt with many comic issues.

"Most of the painters have addressed social issues, such as traffic congestion, fingerprinting in the workplace, obesity, smoking and others," said Thalab. "This comes from a sense of responsibility and a desire to communicate important messages with a sense of humor.

He said that the exhibition is busy with the awareness rather than the political aspect, and focuses mainly on the various talents of Kuwait, and the opportunity to communicate with the audience of the exhibition.

On the direction of the cartoonists in their works, Thalab said that some of them focused on the art of portraiture, in which he presented local Arab and international public figures such as Nabil Shuail, Egyptian players Mohamed Salah, Argentine Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Cinema and the atmosphere of horror and personalities, in addition to the obvious impact on the means of social communication and airspace.
