Police drives out incumbent tourists from Spanish Steps in Rome


It is no longer allowed to sit on the Spanish Steps in the Italian capital Rome. Since Wednesday, seated tourists are being chased away by the police with a whistle. Whoever sits down or eats food on the stairs risks a fine of around € 250. The Roman heritage should be protected against the many spilling eaters.
