Universal Music Group has indeed announced that it is removing its songs from the platform. The major produces artists as famous as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny.
In an open letter, Universal Music accused TikTok of "trying to build a business based on music, without paying fair value for the music" TikTok defended itself in a press release by pointing out the “greed” of Universal Music Group which would put its interests before those of the artists.
