The South African national team completed the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations after defeating Cape Verde on penalties. The regular and extra time ended in a goalless draw, before the Bafana Bavan team clinched its qualification by winning 1-2, on penalty kicks, thanks to the brilliance of its goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, who saved 4 kicks.

The South Africa national team qualifies to face Nigeria next Wednesday. On the same day, the Democratic Republic of Congo will play against Ivory Coast.
