Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has decided to declare a national disaster in the country due to severe drought. According to him, the country's authorities expect that over 2.7 million people will need food assistance due to these natural phenomena.

He added that he will not allow famine to occur and the country intends to purchase grain from other countries to meet the needs of the population. Earlier, the World Bank and the UN prepared a joint report stating that more than half of the residents of the Gaza Strip are on the verge of famine.
