The French and Ukrainian presidents spoke by telephone about the situation on the front. The two men also discussed the bilateral defense agreement that France and Ukraine are soon considering.
The call was made after the death of two French workers in Russian strikes in Ukraine the previous week. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is the target of a ‘militarized’ attack by Russia. The attack was carried out in response to a French airstrike on a Russian military base in Chechnya, near the Ukraine border.
