US authorities included RT America in the list of foreign agents, and since 2022 has been forced to completely cease its activities. Since 2018, a number of broadcast network operators have stopped rebroadcasting RT America signals in Washington, New York, New Jersey, San Diego, Los Angeles and Chicago.
In March 2022, RT America announced that it would cease producing content after more than a decade on the airwaves. T&R Productions, a production company working with the channel, announced the suspension of production and the dismissal of employees in the United States.
