Xavier Trias returned from his political retirement with the sole objective of expelling Ada Colau from the Mayor's Office. The candidate of Junts won the victory by getting 11 councilors, by the ten of the socialist Jaume Collboni and the nine of the current mayor of Barcelona.
The PSC started in the lead, but, in a final hurdle, the convergent rose to the first position to no longer abandon it. But a three-way pact between the PSC, the commons and ERC, a reissue of the old tripartite, could make Coll Boni mayor.
