A conference in support of Palestine, attended by Palestinian, German and other countries’ figures, raises controversy in Germany. There are great calls to ban it, and the local parliament of the state of Berlin confirms that it is studying the matter.
Organizers complain of smear campaigns and say that the majority of Germans, based on polls, “believe that the Israeli military action in Gaza is unjustified,” according to the organizers. The conference raises the slogan “We will prosecute you,’ and notes that “German public opinion can no longer remain silent about the crimes in Gaza”
