Violent confrontations broke out between the Chadian security forces and those loyal to the "Socialist Party Without Borders" This led to the killing of the cousin of the most prominent opposition president, Yahya Dilou, and the arrest of President Saleh Déby’s uncle. The government accuses Ahmed Al-Turabi, the financial official of the Socialist Party, of being behind the assassination attempt on the president of the Supreme Court, Samir Adam Al-Nour.

The Socialist Party denies the allegations of the official authorities.
